And ask me later why a meerkat?

Be more deliberate in the way you manage your products and services.

I believe there are better ways that we as product people can inform, influence, organize and plan our work with teams.

I also see that more time and attention can placed on the front-end of the product lifecycle by focusing on experience discovery, design, strategy and so much more.

What I can help with …

Product Org Design
and Culture Shifting.

It takes a skilled, informed, empowered and diverse team of product professionals to ship great products. I can help you shape your org with the right structure of roles, activities and accountabilities given your product’s lifecycle and company’s stage of growth.

You can enable a sustained product culture and the conditions for success by establishing and developing your company’s product management brand through an active and learning-centric working community.

Success is a happy, valued and impactful team that is effective at engaging customers, collaborating and communicating cross-functionally at your company.

Product Leadership Framing and Coaching.

It necessitates a versatile, disciplined and prepared head of product management to lead both a team of product professionals and a set of products to market. I can help you set a modern standard in leadership from Director to CPO and coach for ongoing development.

You can allow for strength and balance in product pedigree and emotional intelligence in your leaders whose value is to develop a product-led function through the right mix of ops, tools, processes and more.

Success is an inspired, authentic product champion who is effective at stakeholder management and driving product innovation through your organization.

Product Strategy and Portfolio Management.

It requires a codified, well-articulated and regularly maintained product strategy to support the important work of your product management team. I can help you craft and continually align on a product/portfolio strategy that sets and communicates chosen direction.

You can establish a purposeful scheme and cadence to planning products for the right reasons and with the right elements of what really constitutes a product strategy that is level-appropriate for the exec suite.

Success is having alignment on your product strategy as a blueprint that addresses the foreseen challenges and opportunities for your products in the market.

Ways we can work together …

Head of Product (Temp).

I can be actively involved in a role as the committed but (by design) short-term product management leader to help you establish the function, team, roadmap and culture. And, all while achieving business outcomes and organizational alignment.

I come with the experience in senior roles in product.

Coach.

I can be selectively involved in a role as the supportive and (sometimes) prescriptive leadership coach to help you with guidance and guardrails as you refine your approach to product management leadership and even as your product management process matures.

I come with the necessary methods and mindsets.

Facilitator.

I can be formatively involved in a role as the unobtrusive and (always) objective facilitator to help you develop, foster, review and decide on your product strategy with your product and exec teams. And, done systematically and collaboratively as a shared strategy.

I come with the key principles, frameworks and tools.

What I also believe …

Innovation is bilateral.

Innovation is really about the commercialization of new value for a customer but that must also benefit the long-term interests of a business.

Knowledge is power.

It is our job to know. The strategic intents of execs, the problems of customers, the ideas from merely anyone, the solutions from the team and the amplifiers in the market. It is our job to translate all of this to impact.

Deliberate not optional.

Product management is said to be in its golden age and only because leaders have the opportunity to drive more purpose behind what is built.
